Age certificates in Thrillers
12:
Examples: The Hunger Games, Skyfall, The Impossible, Sukerpunch, Sherlock Holmes.
Thriller's with the age certificate of 12, tend to have moderate swearing in them such as 'bitch' or 'twat'.
Violence within Thrillers is moderate and it doesn't dwell on it. For example, in 'The Hunger Games' we are told that the tributes are made to fight to the death, this is shown a mass fight scene when they first enter the arena, there is silence so that it doesn't dwell on the detail and make it gory. Weapons should not be glorified.
Another example of this is shown in 'Suckerpunch', the violence is taken out of the natural world and taken to a fantasy world. This makes the violence and gore less realistic.
The film can have sexual content, however this should be brief and discreet.
Dangerous behaviour such as self harm and suicide can be present, however it shouldn't dwell on detail. Infrequent use of drugs may be present as long as it isn't glamorised.
